Hi, my name is Emi, and I am the creator of the Pen Pal Project!

I am a high schooler in California, and I grew up with a pen pal in New York! I created this project in hopes of children finding a new friend, some joy in creating and reading their letters, and feeling like they have a place and purpose of belonging, no matter their background.

This project has been in the works since September 2025, and officially launched on January 12th 2026. After months of hard work, I am incredibly grateful to have received funding that allows the project to provide our pen pal kits at no cost, ensuring that all children can participate.
